ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS SLOW! No mattter day or time. BOTH drive through & walk-in.

They have a nice playground and play space for the kids but only two tables outside. Also, they don't have any outlets for the customers to charge a phone or plug in a computer. When I asked if thry did, they were rude that I even asked. They have free wi-fi but it is slow. The food is below average.

Ordered 16 mighty kids meals, and the manager who took my order way so nice!!! It's really rare to find a nice managers now a days!! To top off my big order, the game got cancelled. When I went to pick up my order, I asked if I could just pay for the sandwiches! Arlen (the manager) was on point with her customer service!! She accommodated my situation in a friendly manner!! Such an awesome manager!!

This place is no good. Management has an attitude problem and so does the workers. I ordered a quarter pounder with no cheese, and sure enough there's cheese on it. I take it back and say that I wanted no cheese, and I watched the workers... They just SCRAPED it off the burger and put it back in the box. So disgusting, I asked for a new one because I said "what if I was allergic to cheese?" The worker gave me a look as if I were from another planet and made me a new one. NEVER, I repeat NEVER go to this McDonald's. Worst McDonald's on the planet.

Alright! So I came here the other day, we decided to go through the drive thru since we had the kids. We ordered 2 Teri deluxe meals and 1 number two. Now the number 2 (2 cheeseburgers) my sister asked them add Mac sauce and NO pickles. So anyway the boy tells us to pull in stall number 3 to wait for our food. We got our food after waiting not too long. Now we pull out of the parking lot and my sister digs in to her cheeseburgers, checking to see if they added the Mac sauce ( cause sometimes you pay for it and they don't add it) sure enough there was Mac sauce but my hamburger patty!!! We end up turning around and going straight back into that drive thru, we got NO apology from McDonald's in fact they were giving US attitude. We got the burger though, but I don't think we'd come back to this location.

After experiencing McDonald's in Hawaii and then moving to the mainland, I realized something -- all McDonald's locations are definitely not created equal. And Hawaii McDonald's feature some local items that you definitely can't find at mainland (So Cal) McDonalds. When I was in elementary school, sometimes my family would get to sleep in on Sundays and my dad would pick up McDonald's for breakfast on these lazy Sunday mornings. Since this Pearl City McDonald's was just minutes away from our home, we would come to this one the most often. Now that I'm an adult--and am more aware of fast food--my taste buds have changed up some. I must say, though, McDonald's breakfast outshines those at other fast food joints, and if I ever make a trip to the Golden Arches, it's probably for something breakfasty (unless it's for a McFlurry craving). But the next time I ever visit an O'ahu McDonald's, I'd probably get one of the following: "Filet-O-Fish": I boycotted this sandwich when it started to become too expensive, but during my rare trips to McD's, I would get this fish sandwich for lunch. It consists of a crispy patty made from "wild-caught fish" (according to the website), and topped with a slice of melted American cheese and tartar sauce inside a soft bun. Most times when I did get this sandwich, it would be nice and warm and not too soggy. I always liked the fish patty, but I always got my sandwich without the tartar. As I got older (and the sandwiches seemed to shrink in size), I would order two of these Filet-O-Fish sandwiches instead of one. "Hash Browns": Potatoes/fries are my guilty pleasure, and I do enjoy a good hash brown from McDonald's. When done right, it sports a piping hot, tender interior made with Russet potatoes and a crispy, toasted exterior. "Egg McMuffin": I think the actual first time I tried an "Egg McMuffin" for the first time was at an airport, and I was ordering breakfast before an early morning flight. This signature sandwich features a freshly cracked Grade A egg topped with extra lean Canadian bacon and a slice of melted American cheese, in between a freshly toasted English muffin. I like English muffins thanks to their texture, so I had no problems with this traditional sandwich. "Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit": Though I prefer the Chick-Fil-A version, this classic breakfast sandwich does satisfy. This "traditional" sandwich features two strips of Applewood smoked bacon, a fluffy folded egg and a slice of melted American cheese in between slices of a fresh-baked buttermilk biscuit. From previous experience, the cheese was delightfully melted on the soft, flaky biscuit, but the bacon could have been a tad crispier. "Hot Cakes": Yes, I've had gourmet pancakes before (and loved them). And yes, because I don't usually use syrup or butter on my pancakes, the McDonald's version can seem rather plain. These thin, golden-brown hotcakes are soft, moist and definitely do melt in your mouth. But if I'm in the mood for a no-fuss, no-frills breakfast from McDonald's, I'll opt for the plain-Jane, traditional buttermilk pancakes (and yes, I can eat all three of these thin 'cakes). "Portuguese Sausage, Eggs and Rice Platter": Growing up, I remember my dad getting this for breakfast whenever we did make a McDonald's run ... and I would always have a bite of his. This breakfast platter consists of white rice, circle-shaped Portuguese sausage pieces and scrambled eggs. I always enjoyed the slight kick of the salty Portuguese sausage. There's also a "Spam, Eggs and Rice Platter" for those who prefer Spam over Portuguese sausage. "McFlurry": I usually switch it up between the OREO and m&ms version, but I go for one of the two if I'm getting a McFlurry for dessert. This sweet treat features vanilla soft serve swirled with bits of m&ms or OREOs. The creamy blend just really depends on the McDonald's you visit -- some locations blend the soft serve and mix-ins really well, whereas other locations don't and you basically get all the candy chunks in one spot (the middle of the cup) and are left eating just plain vanilla soft serve for the remainder of the treat. This McD's is usually pretty consistent with their food, but one star gets docked because they've gotten a lot slower over the years ... in terms of the drive-thru speed, anyway.

What do you expect from a fast food chain. They have a monotone voice and they have no personalities. Low grade workers who just need cash. Service sucks and the inside is full of homeless people!

  • Dave J.

It's McDonald's what can I say ... this place is perfect for a quick bite... I do try to stay away from fast foods but some times I just need a Big Mac or Double cheeseburger... No complaints about this location.. busy at times but that's to be expected.

Worst drive thru!!! Sat in my car for a good 15 minutes with 4 cars in front of me. If my son wasn't so hungry I would never have gone here!

  • Charla T.

This McDonalds has the worst drive thru and dine in service! I've been coming here for 4 years because it's the closest to my house. And I try at all cost to avoid my kids telling me..."WE WANT MCDONALDS!" The anxiety kicks in as soon as I reach the parking lot! The entire parking has One Way directions everywhere! The drive thru driveway is very short. If you are at the intersection of the parking lot trying to get in the drive thru line, you're screwed! You block traffic going in 4 directions. And if you wait back at any of the stop signs, you hold up the cars behind you or other cars make it into the drive thru before you cause you can't block the intersection. If you go there early morning or during lunch, make plans to be in line for at least 10-20 minutes! Before you know it you spend your entire lunch break waiting for "Fast Food"! There is no menu before the speaker, so you're not really sure what u want til you get there. The people taking the orders there are usually very accurate and fast. Which is why I'm giving one star. After all the waiting to get in line & making your order you get to the window & they tell you to pull on the other side to wait for your order. Now here's the kicker...I see cars up at the pick up window for more than 5 minutes waiting to pick up their food...why didn't they pull on the side to wait for their order? Why am I waiting on the side for A Happy Meal? And it never fails!!! This happens EVERY TIME I go here! There's been numerous occasions when I got the wrong order and I've even gone back in 3 times one day to have them correct my order! And they gave me a free apple pie! I don't even like apple pies!!! At least have the courtesy to ask me if I want something from the dollar menu or comp me for my order! And keep in mind, the front door is no where near the parking lot. It's quite a walk down their walk way to get to the front door! Now, the service inside of the restaurant is just as bad as drive thru. There's usually only 1-2 people on the registers, with about 20 people waiting in line. There workers on the register are usually very slow or have horrible accents! The inside is even worst than the drive thru at getting my orders right. I've had my order corrected many times inside of this place. The wait for your food is about the same as the outside is....which is pathetic!!! This place is labeled a "Fast Food Service Restraunt" for a reason!!!...Fast Service for people on the Go with places to Go!!! I've complained to managers many times about their service, and nothing has changed. Maybe Corporate needs to spend a day here to see how poorly this place runs!!!

This McDonald's is alright. They are pretty good with special orders and I never had a problem yet with my order. This is one of the last McDonald's that still has a play place for the kids. I remember coming here as a kid to play in the play place. They have renovated the dining area and it looks much better. The dining room and drive thru are both 24 hours which is great for those late nights going out or early mornings heading to work. The conveyor belt is still broken that sends the food to the drive thru which causes a long line. So it may be better to just walk in

Heres another Mcdonalds review!! Speed: slow. Honestly I metnioned about "the second" slowest drive thru in another review....this is theSLOWESTdrive thru ive ever been in. In all honesty how long does it take to order a couple of burgers? After 45 minutes I gave up watching the clock....I would have left...but...i was stuck in the drive thru....Avoid the breakfast line, and avoid coming here after 9 pm....youll be sorry....I once forgot and got stuck in line..... Freshness: The one saving grace of this place is that the food here is so far very good. Fresh, hot, not stale...granted I dont come here often due to the wait. Staff: ....not bad, but not great. Theyre fairly friendly here but in all honesty some people here arent very friendly and they just shove the food right at you! (exact same thing i said abotu the other mcdonals) Overall: SLOOWW....food is good...possibly one of the better mcdonalds food wise....but not worth the wait..... 2 stars!

  • Scott N.

Dude seriously.. How can I give this place more than zero stars when they forgot to put salt on my hash brown?? One star only because they got my order correct. The breakfast burrito did give me the dumps later though..

  • Alejandra F.

Maybe I'm weird, but I was totally fascinated by the conveyer to the drive thru. Slightly long wait and had to circle around to park and wait for my order to be complete. The parking spots that they have reserved for waiting aren't the most convenient to get into. Everything came as ordered, and my fries were hot and salty.

I would have never thought I'd write a review for a McDonalds but this McDonalds FAILS! This morning I stopped to get an unsweetened iced tea. I don't know how or why but they added sugar to it. It wasn't sweetened tea, it was sugar added to my unsweetened ice tea because I could still taste the sugar crystals. This was the drive through and by the time I realized what I got, I wasn't going to waste my time turning around and getting a new one so I just dumped it out. For lunch, still wanting an ice tea and only wanting something small to eat I decided to try McDonalds again. I decided this time to walk in and order to go. I ordered an ice tea and McChicken sandwich. I taste my ice tea before I leave, yes it's unsweetened. I get back to my desk, open my bag and was like why the heck is my McChicken in the shape of a cylinder. Open it up and its some kind of wrap. WTF! On top of that its some honey mustard crap that taste disgusting. Is it my fault for not double checking before leaving? I have not had this problem at other locations so maybe I take having to check my order for granted. Perhaps they do not understand English at this location? Also the drive thru at this location is extremely slow. I am done stopping by this location!

  • Tracey M.

I went to this location because it was close by my friend's house and we wanted a late night bite to eat. Even though I was pretty much the only car in the drive-thru it took FOREVER to get one Onion Cheddar Burger (I forget what my friend had but I know it was also only ONE item). The worst part was the fact that they FORGOT THE CHEDDAR CHEESE in my burger. How can you forget something that's in the very name of the order?!?!?! Never never never going to this McDonald's again.

  • John A.

I like the vanilla cone when I come here, or any other McDonalds around the world.

    (3)
  • Victoria B.

We wanted fast food before heading out on a long drive. There is definitely nothing fast about this drive thru. It appears as if the food is delivered on a conveyor belt from the kitchen to the drive thru booth. It is like no other McDs that I've experienced before.

Hey! Like Bon Jovi? Well...uh, sorry, BUT. Hey! Like mayonnaise? Well this is the place for you! Ordered a Quarter Pounder w/cheese meal, asked for mayo on top (really, who does that anyway right..sometimes you just gotsta though). Got a heaping-helping-handful of the stuff on my burger, it became a Mayo sandwich with some burger. For reals. Relatively sure that they use a squirt gun for the condiments, not sure if condiment-guy thinks everyone loves mayo that much or if not competent enough to realize that half the bottle of mayo on a burger is an absurd amount of the stuff. Whatever the case is, drive-thru crew is friendly enough, peak times are a horrible time to go through, and whatever you do, don't request mayo unless you absolutely love the stuff. Peace.

  • Lisa F.

Ok. I've been going here since I was a little girl. I'm 31 now so you do the math. Over the past 10 years, this place has been getting slower and slower. The inside service is slow and the drive-through is even worse. You'd think they'd be faster knowing that there is another mcdonalds in pearl city now ( across from walmart), but nope. The only reason I come here is because this one is so close and the other location is out of my way; but now I will go there because I even called in my order before I left the house and I still had to wait!!! Ugh.

Stopped off to pick up a happy meal for my son's dinner at a school function. So pissed to get to school and find out, they left out the chicken nuggets only thing he had to eat was fries and his drink. You can bet I called corporate office

I, too, hate this Pearl City McDonald's. Their drive thru is always slooooow no matter when you go. Their drive thru is built wrong. Pearl City Parkway McDonald's is much better.

If you want a cheap meal, the Dollar menu for the Mcdouble, and the refillable soft drinks can't be beat. Fries are consistent.

  • Quijana B.

You are in Pearl City. You are in need of something quick, salty, and cheap. McDonald's should fit the bill. The only question, then is whether to walk into the McDonalds in Wal Mart or drive through the McDonalds in the parking lot of Don Quijote. I beg you to fight for parking at Wal Mart. The food itself was fine, but the service was truly awful. We ended up parking and walking in because the line for the drive through was spilling out into the road. The line inside was no better, reacing all the way to the door. I asked for a burger combo with iced coffee for the drink and with a cup of ice water on the side. The plan was for me to have the iced coffee and for my child to have the iced water. I received the burger combo, a hot coffee, and a 4 ounce dixie cup for ice. When I objected I was shown my receipt and a stony face from the manager. The line was building behind me, so I took what I had and informed my child that we would never come back to this location, as the other location is just as convenient for us. He immediately agreed, even though this location has a playground. As I drove away I thought longingly about the drive through screen, and how much it would have helped in this case.

Went at 9:30 pm and it had a long line on the drive thru, they need to move the line faster, other than the line, same quality as any mcdonolds

  • Silky S.

Other negative reviews about this Pearl City McDonald's are spot on. This is, without exaggeration, the worst McDonald's that I've ever been to. Not sure if the fact that I've lived in this area for 30+ years and have been coming here forever actually hurts my rating of this place or helps it. I guess when you're a kid, you don't notice customer service, especially the efficiency of workers and importance of getting your order right. Mom and Dad used to handle all that. In the last 10 years of coming to this McDonald's I see just how much this place can improve (was it always THIS bad?) For one, the drive-thru is terrible. Built in the 80s, this PC McDs has only one ordering station, unlike the two screens I see in the newer/renovated McD's. Because of the one lane, 4 cars in the drive-thru are already going to cause problems. You have a large number of people trying to enter the drive-thru from Waimano Home Rd., a number coming across from Foodland, some trying to make a nearly impossible U-Turn coming from the Longs Drugs parking lot, and even the rare drive-thru'er (is that a word?) stopping by after shopping at Don Quixote. Either way, the traffic situation gets messy very easily (WHO HAS THE RIGHT-OF-WAY??) I don't think this is simply a design problem however. I wonder how much of the messy drive-thru has to do with the slow service? Many times, I may be the 3rd car in line there but wait over 5 minute for the two cars in front of me to be served. Another problem with this McDonald's (drive thru AND inside restaurant) is the accuracy and competency of filling orders. I've encountered more mistakes in orders there than any other food place I've been to. My parents (who have no idea what Yelp is) often come back complaining of some mini-incident at that McD's. I could go on for many more pages and tell stories of wacky workers, but it's time for me to hele. In conclusion, if time allows you to, drive to the McD's across from WalMart. You may end up driving further and paying more from gas, but the amount of frustration that you are spared will make it worth your while. Happy eating...

I don't expect much out of a fast food chain; all I want is a quick, affordable meal. This location has the potential to be a very good one. It's in a shopping area with a lot of parking available and markets nearby. It's also right off of Waimano Home Road so it should be convenient, but really it's not. When dining inside, it always seems like the lines are a bit too long and they're not doing the best job at taking and preparing meals in a timely fashion. I can't completely blame them because I understand that there are rush periods throughout the day that can be a challenge, but it does seem to take a little too long. The real problem with this location is the drive-thru, though. I can't blame this on the workers because they seem to be good, but the system they have in place at this location is just absurd. Rather than having an adjoining window to serve the drive-thru, there's a separate room that only has cups and things to prepare drinks. All the food is prepared in the restaurant and delivered to the separate room via conveyor belt. I'm sure the system is a necessity, but it's incredibly slow. If you don't mind the wait, you could eat here. The food is not bad, but I'd recommend eating at the new location near Pearl Kai, or walking into Walmart.

Slowest McDonalds ever! Even at 715am! Never will I go to drive through that is not physically attached to the main restaurant...

This McDonalds always has the longest line for their drive through. I'm sorry but you guys are supposed to be FAST FOOD. However, I sometimes feel that I could walk into a sit down restaurant and get served much faster than going to this McDonalds. Plus what makes it even worse is the customer service. People are just not happy working there and could care less about helping you are even interacting with you. They seem to always get my order wrong and I just can't take it any more. I puposely avoid this McDonalds. Since there is a new one closer to WalMart, I just go to that one. It is so much better!

I am a frequent customer and i always go there after work. a lot of times when ordering through their 24 hour drive through( which sometimes there is a cone blocking the drive through are without any explanation why?) but for for the money you pay there what can i say. the food looks like it was slapped together and sometimes there is a manager there that sets up the order that was very unprofessional. they had made a mistake on my order and you would think that a manager would correct, but instead she just argued with us and said next time look on the screen. so i would not be going back there, I'd rather go to new one by babies are us, at least they greet you at the window with a smile. i would not recommend the one by Don Quijote.
